the door to the batteries was broken. I have to hold down the lid everytime I use it.
I'd give it a five if it lasted longer and had replaceable parts. Most people liked this one the best, so I ordered another. It worked great to make loads of foam for morning lattes. I love the idea of the frother, and I checked out reviews of various brands. I guess I get really frustrated with the 'make it cheap and throw it away' mentality. I hate waste and one shouldn't have to trash something that just needs a small part. I also used it for foaming milk for hot chocolate, etc.I used it an average of five days a week, and I was very careful with it. Couldn't find anything I could fix, though.
Got the new one very quickly, but I'm disappointed that the housing now will not open for service. That wastes resources, fills up landfills, and adds more pollution to our planet. A friend gave me one of these a couple years ago. It quit working about a month ago, and I opened up the plastic housing to see if a connection was loose or something. No screws, just molded together.
It never worked, even with multiple tries with different sets of batteries. Would only buy one with the 5-year warranty. I made the mistake of buying a 'used' one. Yes, I had the batteries inserted correctly.
Yum. Be aware that according to Aerolatte's website, you should either froth very cold milk or milk that is very warm (but has not boiled). I just store it in its case so it won't get bumped in the kitchen. I heat mine in the microwave for about 30 seconds until it is very warm and then froth it. My only real concern is the construction of the motor housing unit.
Then I pour coffee into it to make a delicious cappuccino. The carrying case is also very handy if you want to travel with it.However, the Aerolatte does exactly what it says and makes great froth. The frothing coil and stem are study metal, but the motor unit is plastic. This is a great little frother and works very well. It needs to be treated gently because it doesn't seem terribly sturdy (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars).
They specifically say that room temp milk does not froth well.
I can't believe I lived without this device so long. It works great and I love the case. Just got this in a few days ago and my whole family loves it. I have used the included recipes to make milkshakes, lattes, coffee drinks. I keep it in the drawer right under my coffee brewer.
